Seeking the 28B DFL Endorsement

Fountain & La Crescent -- The Thomas Trehus for House campaign took another step in securing the DFL endorsement from District 28B DFLers over the weekend by attending both county conventions. Candidate Trehus took to the stage to deliver his vision for Southeastern Minnesota, as well as take questions from delegates.

Also present was Mr. Jon Pieper, who unsuccessfully challenged Rep. Greg Davids in 2014. Mr. Pieper is also seeking the DFL endorsement from delegates, but unlike Mr. Trehus, is unsure if he will challenge the endorsed candidate in a primary.

"When a candidate seeks the party endorsement, but fails to abide by that endorsement, it denigrates the party and it is disrespectful to the 200 some delegates who actively engage in the political process," said Mr. Trehus, when asked about Mr. Pieper's unwillingness to abide by the local DFL endorsement.

Delegates from Houston and Fillmore Counties will choose their candidate at the Senate District 28 convention held on April 2nd at Rushford Public School in Rushford.
