Caledonia, MN -- Spring Grove School Board Member Thomas Trehus filed for office today, officially entering the race to run for Minnesota House of Representatives in District 28B. Trehus will face incumbent Rep. Greg Davids this November, who has been holding the seat for nearly 25 years. Upon leaving the Houston County Courthouse, Trehus showed appreciation and acknowledged the significance of the day towards his family heritage.
"As I file today for the Minnesota House, on Norway's Constitution Day, I am reminded of where we have come from and the wealth of possibilities for our region and our state. I am proud of the campaign we have already created, and I look forward to hearing from people across the district. It would be an honor to work for Houston and Fillmore Counties in St. Paul next year.”
Thomas Trehus is a Spring Grove School Board member and a 5th generation resident of Wilmington Township in rural Houston County. His family emigrated from Norway to Southeastern Minnesota in the Mid-1800s. Trehus currently works for a construction company in Harmony, MN. His main legislative priorities include education, roads and bridges, helping small businesses succeed, and reducing the property tax burden for local landowners.
